Abdullah was born in Iraq and lived in the United Arab Emirates for 12 years were he worked as a full stack web developer for different tech companies before moving to Germany. He joined cargo.one as the first official full-time employee of the engineering team and helped build the code base for cargo.one.
I was always looking for an opportunity to be part of a company that has a real impact on a specific industry. cargo.one is one of the few companies that has an amazing vision and is always staying one step ahead of everyone else, providing the freedom to employees to be creative and allowing anyone to contribute anywhere. As an engineer, I am always welcome to take decisions and give feedback on business topics - this is what way too many companies and startups lack.
I can never forget my first few months at cargo.one when I joined and the whole product was just a concept. Back then, the team was very small. However, everyone was incredibly energetic, motivated and eager to launch the product. It was amazing to see bookings going through the platform for the first time and making history in the air cargo industry. I am so proud of building the first pieces of cargo.one.
I can only describe the cargo.one engineering team as friends who work together. We are very flexible, geeky and open to learn from each other. Being very close as a team makes us very efficient and determined as well. Every team member understands how important it is to have solid architecture, clean code and well-defined workflows, and this is what enables us to build and improve our product on a daily basis.
The best part of cargo.one is that everyone is given the space to contribute to each part of the product.
