What one word would you use to describe your colleagues at cargo.one

Driven!  Colleagues, everybody at Cargo One, we all have a common goal. Everybody is driven. Everybody is committed. I mean, it's hard to pick just one word. Everybody has fun and it's really a dynamic environment. It's really a playful and fun environment, where you can do your best work, and work with incredibly smart and committed people. Everybody shares a common goal, so it's a pleasure.

What Leitmotif resonates the most with you and why?

I think the leitmotif of thinking incrementally, challenging, and iterating. That's what we have to do. If we're gonna transform an industry, we have to talk to our users. We have to understand the problems, not as we see them, but as users see them on the airline side and the freight forwarder side. This idea is that we need to think big, but act in small little chunks, act incrementally and always talk to the user. Don't ever run off and assume you know the answer or know the solution because we don't. We don't live in this air freight world day to day. We're just here to help it. So that's the thing that I think makes the most sense to me.

What does a typical day for you look like?

For me, being in the Americas, my mornings are getting up early and trying to catch up with Europe, which I'm quite used to now. I have the European work hours, and then I have my work hours. So I get to spend my afternoons, sometimes my evenings talking to my customers, meeting with my customers, and understanding exactly what their needs are so we can serve them better.

What does dynamic working mean to you?

For me, dynamic working means I have more flexibility in my schedule. I also get the chance to interact with more of my colleagues because we're all on the same playing field. We all have the same setup at our homes or in our workspaces, whatever the case may be. There's no bias toward any geographical location. You don't have to be in the office. You just have to be in the virtual office and we can all do that together. So for me being someone who is technically remote in a completely different continent and time zone means that I get access to all the people I need all the time. I don't have to chase them down physically. I just have to find them in our virtual workspace, which is much easier.
