“Ready for carriage” shipments and carrier cancellation policies:

ATH airport handlers accept only ready for carriage shipments, i.e. properly packed for air freight, weighted, measured, labeled and accompanied by AWB set.

Palletized goods must be in heat treated wooden pallets or plastic pallets.

Pallets must have adequate stretch film at least 4 rounds, corner posts and 4 straps/hoops.

Heavier than 500 kg pallets, handlers may request metal straps/hoops instead of plastic.

Shipments must be delivered at the ATH airport measured, weighted and labeled accompanied by AWB set.  

Perishable shipments tertiary packaging must be thermally insulated to sustain general cargo handling for the total duration of air travel sustaining needed temperatures as per Food Legislation prerequisites

DG shipments must be as per DGR, accompanied by the correct DGD and MAWB set.

Cut off times of airlines must always be kept.

Otherwise shipments will be regarded as non-compliant for air transport and be rejected and need to be immediately returned back for preparation for ready for carriage

If the shipper is not ready to deliver the shipment ready for carriage at ATH airport before cut off times, cancellation  fees as per below are applied.
